I was rewatching Desperate Housewives and it came to the part where Karen McClusky was dying from cancer. I started to wonder about if the actress who played her, Kathryn Joosten, was alive in 2023. I started writing this last night February 18, 2023 and I woke up thinking about it. So I looked it up again. Mrs. Karen McClusky.
In the series finale, Karen succumbs to cancer. This was agreed upon between Marc Cherry the writer/producer and Kathryn Joosten— the actress, since she was battling cancer in real life as well. Kathryn Joosten died 20 days after the series finale aired.
